More trailers

These are grain & walking floor trailers.  They haul raw material in them from farms and grain elevators to food processing centers.  The top left trailer loads from the top & unloads over a pit from the bottom.  The other two pictures are a walking floor trailer.  They have slats that move material out of the back.  They can move pallets of material to the back or raw products like the bottom picture.  These trailers bring the farm products to the processing centers so they can make food for us!!  This is where it all begins as far as our food goes.

Mrs. Hnizdo's dad has a walking floor trailer and he hauls specialty feed ingredients to dairies, feed mills, and food processors.  Maybe Mrs. Hnizdo can get me a picture of her dad's rig & I can get it on here!  It sure is nice & pretty!

Cattle trailers!  These haul livestock of all kinds.  Sheep, pigs, horses, cattle.  They have several compartments inside that divide the load up evenly throughout the trailer.  These trailers are famous for having LOTS of lights at night and the owner's name lit up on a sign up front.  A lot of times, it's said they're lit up like a christmas tree!!  You can sure see them coming for miles away!  These can be very dangerous because the cattle like to lean in a turn, so you have to take turns VERY slow.  The bottom right picture is Mr. Walker's 32 foot gooseneck trailer in a snowstorm in Missouri this past March.  Almost as long as an 18-wheeler!!

....very creative!
So, we got a little pop up thunderstorm this evening and we looked to the North & saw this...

Lightning struck a oil tank battery and it caught fire.  It caused a grass fire that spread.  It was about 5 miles North of the house.  Lucky for us, the winds switch from out of the North to out of the East.  So, we weren't in any danger.  It's important that you guys remember to conserve water and be careful with fires since it's SOOOOOO dry here in Texas!!!

I hope you guys are having a good week.  My week's loads have changed.  I'm hauling to Irving, TX Friday and Saturday morning.  It's a last minute thing my boss has arranged to ship this material in shipping containers overseas to China but it has to be there by the end of this month, so we have to hurry!!  I'll show you guys more about it later on!  Until next time....  --Mr. Walker
