Yet another breakdown

My truck #24 is broke down again.  My check engine light kept coming on and then going off.  That usually means something electrical.  There are bunches of little sensors all over these trucks and if one has a loose connection or a wire that isn't grounded, it will make that little check engine light come on.  Soooo...it's back at the shop in Abilene, TX.

I did manage to get some pictures of the shredder in Waco.  Here we go!

The dump pile.  Grapple in the background is feeding the shredder's conveyor belt.
Front end loader is pushing the pile towards the grapple. The shredder control room in the background up top.
Pile of fluff.  Things like upholstry, insulation, any lightweight material found in your car.

Flow diagram of a shredder.  The fluff is called fiber in this one.  Looks complicated, but really pretty simple.
The pile of clean metal is around back and I wasn't able to get a picture of it.  The Waco facility is a very clean facility.  Concrete grounds, lots of equipment working together communicating on the radio to make sure there are no delays and three inspectors getting trucks flowing quickly.  It's a very good facility.

Now, I'm in truck #10.  I don't have a picture yet.  I was going to get a picture of it but my phone lost power today.  I did make another run to Waco today.  I am pretty sure that is what I will be doing all week.

Did you guys having a good weekend?  Football kicked off it's 1st week of regular season games.  The Cowboys lost a close one on Sunday night.  It's just the 1st week and there's a lot of football to play.  Right now, I'm watching my team - Denver Broncos - play.  It's almost halftime and it's 10-3, they're loosing to Oakland.

We had a VERY interesting thing happen on Sunday morning.  At about 7:30 AM we had an earthquake!  It was a 4.4 on the richter scale.  It shook the house side to side pretty good.  It knocked a light fixture out, and put some cracks in the walls.  It was loud, too!  There were also aftershocks!  One of them was a 3.4 on Monday morning that rattled my wife when I was gone to Waco.  Some information on our earthquakes:

The big one was felt as far away as Louisiana!!  Even reports from Richardson, TX and Grand Prairie, TX came in!  That's near you guys!

I hope you guys get my package soon!!  I sent a couple of maps.  One is an atlas, a collection of maps of different states.  The other is a pretty BIG and good map of Texas.  I also put a log book in there and I will help you guys fill that out one of these days!  I also found some pretty cool stickers for a map.  I was hoping you guys could put a sticker on the atlas whenever I talk about that town on here!  Maybe you guys can vote on one of the sticker colors and use just that color when I talk about a town in depth.  So far, that would be Waco, TX and Tye, TX!!  We will cover more towns on my blog!

I hope you guys had a great weekend!  I'm looking forward to a great week of work & blogs!  Talk to you soon!  --Robbie
